Leadership, Sustainability and Innovation: Bridging the Academic-Practitioner Divide

Purpose

We recognize sustainability and innovation as two indispensable elements of current and future business and government leadership. At the same time we observe a gap between scientific research and the needs of companies and governments in the field of leadership.

Therefore, the purpose of this conference is to address the leadership, sustainability and innovation-related issues that organizations in both the private- and public-sectors are currently facing and are likely to face in the future, and to align the research accordingly. Further, the aim of this conference is not only to discuss these issues but to find solutions and initiate necessary actions.

Format and expected outcomes

We will attain our purpose by providing a “project incubator” using the knowledge and research of the world’s best leadership experts. Members of academia, industry, and government will analyze in open discussion sessions specific topics, problems, and issues presented by the participating organizations and as an outcome will generate possible solutions and create projects to test and implement these solutions.

Additionally, in order to facilitate the testing and implementation of the generated solutions we will invite representatives of various funding institutions that will provide information on the possibilities of obtaining the necessary funding.

Participants and benefits

We warmly invite academics, managers of both for-profit and non-profit organizations, and members of public sector and governments. The conference will provide:

  • participating companies and governments with the opportunities to apply the knowledge and research of the world’s best leadership experts in developing the potential of their staff and their business, obtaining novel ideas, address current issues and solve problems
  • academics with the opportunities to cooperate with top companies and governments and to conduct high impact research with long-term developmental and publications outcomes.

How to participate

To make the conference as accessible as possible there will be no “registration fee.” We chose to make this meeting fee-free to create an environment where those who want to participate in this interactive forum can come and actively participate in solving problems, initiating change, and developing collaborative research outcomes. We therefore expect all the participants to both benefit from and meaningfully contribute to the outcomes of the conference. Details on the individual sessions and pre-registration will be posted on this site and communicated to network members via LDRNET.

We still have some available sessions for organizations and their academic partners to present their challenges at this conference. If you would like to bring a topic, issue or problem please contact Krzysztof Dembek at kdembek@gmail.com.

There are also opportunities for sponsors. If you are interested in sponsoring this event, please contact Krzysztof Dembek at kdembek@gmail.com.
